Cantilever Arms by Design
Straight Arms: As the most versatile option, straight arms offer flat, direct support for a wide range of items. You’ll appreciate their adaptability, especially for flat materials like steel sheets. To account for deflection under load, arms up to 48 inches long usually feature a minimum pitch of 3/8 inch per foot, while longer ones (54 to 60 inches) have a 5/8 inch per foot pitch. This design ensures stability and prevents sagging over time.
Inclined Arms: If you’re dealing with cylindrical or rounded items that might roll, inclined arms with a 20-degree angle (about 4.36 inches per foot) are ideal. They keep rolls, pipes, or similar goods in place, reducing the risk of accidents and making retrieval easier for you and your team.
Customized Cantilever Arms: While not a standard warehouse feature, custom designs let you expand your system’s capabilities. You can modify existing arms to fit unique needs, such as adding specialized supports, though this is best for non-traditional applications where off-the-shelf solutions fall short.
